Oaklands Day Nursery Ofsted Report
|
Oaklands
Ofsted have awarded Treetops Oaklands Outstanding in 4 areas of learning.
Sympathetically converted from a working barn, our nursery is conveniently situated off the Chester High Road, nestling on the outskirts of Neston Village. Oaklands has been architecturally designed with safety and security in mind and provides excellent childcare facilities. Our rural location, in the fresh country air, provides an ideal start in life for growing children. Backed by farmland, we have regular visits from the horses who watch the children at play!
The nursery walls are covered in fabulous displays and the children are always busy painting, dressing up, getting messy, reading a story or relaxing in their jungle rooms. The caring, fun-filled environment is perfect preparation for when your child goes to school, as we provide each child with the individual attention, to enable them to develop to their full potential and to help with the smooth transition for when they start school.
We have individual rooms specifically planned for the age and development of your child. Our babies have a peaceful environment where they can explore at their own pace, whilst the toddler’s room has large physical equipment, to encourage and enhance movement and confidence and to let off steam! Our Pre-School children have a huge area for creative development and exploration, so your child can choose their own activities and explore to their hearts content. They also have direct playground access to take their learning outdoors.
Facilities
Baby Unit
The nursery has a self contained baby unit with its own kitchen and changing facilities. This ensures that babies are well looked after in their own secure environment with a home from home feel and everything they need close at hand. The back of the unit houses a separate sleep area, where babies can enjoy undisturbed sleep.
Outdoor activities
We have an exciting outdoor play area consisting of both a grassed area for all sorts of sporting activities, for teddy bears picnics and group story times in the summer and a hard surface area for bikes, hoops, skipping, bats & balls and letting off steam! In addition to all the activities going on inside the nursery, we also like to take the children outdoors to follow the nature trial – picking flowers and collecting leaves for displays in the nursery.
Communication
We actively encourage continual communication between parents and the nursery to ensure that the time your child spends at the nursery is as happy as possible. We keep parents up to date with what is happening through daily diary sheets, newsletters, open days and parent’s evenings. Every year we hold an open day and summer fair which all children, parents, grandparents, family and friends of Treetops are invited to. The money raised at these events goes towards a local charity we are supporting for the year.
Meals
We prepare home cooked delicious, nutritious, well balanced meals and snacks to the children and ensure that mealtimes are a happy occasion and encourage conversation and the tasting of new foods. Menus are displayed each week on the notice boards and we encourage plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Extra Curricular Activities
In addition to the day-to-day activities at the nursery, we also have many extra activities that you just won’t find with other nursery providers. We have weekly French lessons, using games, songs, puppets and role play to introduce children to a second language. Our preschool have mini gym classes on Mondays and Fridays. We ask the children to bring in their pumps on these days so that they can take part in the fun.
