Policies & Procedures



Treetops policies and procedures are underpinned by our firm commitment to treat all children as individuals.

We aim to:-


  1. Keep your children safe
  2. Keep your children healthy
  3. Make a positive contribution

Copies of our nursery policies and procedures are available to view in the nursery reception.


Terms and Conditions



Sessions

  1. Sessions are to be attended in agreement with the nursery and are to be pre-arranged. Extra sessions can be booked at short notice subject to availability and should be paid for in advance or on the day of attendance.
  2. Children are to be collected before the end of each session.
  3. A late collection charge of £5 per 15 minutes or part thereof will be made for children not collected by the end of the session.

Fees

  1. A registration fee will be charged for each child on first registering with the nursery.
  2. Nursery fees are payable one month in advance on the first day of each month by direct debit, unless otherwise agreed.
  3. Fees will be charged at the full rate for every day that the nursery is open and for periods of holiday or sickness.
  4. One month’s notice is given of any proposed variation in fees chargeable.
  5. Unless otherwise stated at individual nurseries, fees for morning sessions are inclusive of lunchtime meals and a mid morning snack. Afternoon sessions include a light tea and afternoon snack. (If more detail regarding meals is required please speak to individual nursery manager.)

Late payment of fees

  1. In the event that invoices are not paid on the due date as referred to in ‘fees’, we reserve the right to charge interest at the rate of 4% above the base rate of HSBC bank at the time in force on the unpaid debt from the date of invoice until the date of payment.
  2. In the event that bank charges are incurred by the nursery due to the cancellation or dishonour of a cheque, standing order or other payment, we reserve the right to claim reimbursement of the total charges incurred, plus a further charge for administration.

Termination

  1. Notice to terminate this agreement and to withdraw your child/ren from the nursery must be given in writing one calendar month in advance of the intended date.
  2. Fees are payable for a full one month in the event that shorter notice is given.

Closing

  1. The nursery will be closed for statutory holidays
  2. The proprietors reserve the right to close the nursery at other times. The maximum notice possible will be given.

Infectious diseases

  1. You must inform the nursery staff as soon as possible if your child/ren has an infectious disease.
  2. The nursery will take advice from the local government ‘infection control for day care’ guidelines and will also act in accordance with their ‘sickness policy’.
  3. The nursery receives the right to refuse admission to any child on health grounds.

Personal property

  1. All items of clothing and personal property should be clearly marked.
  2. All children should have at least one change of clothing.
  3. The nursery cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal property however caused.

Emergency contacts

  1. It is essential that the nursery can contact a parent/carer or alternative emergency contact at all times.
  2. Any changes in these contacts must be passed to the nursery before the child/ren next attends.

Fire Precautions

  1. The nursery complies with all fire regulations and has regular fire drills.
  2. All fire appliances are regularly checked and maintained.
  3. The nursery premises are strictly no smoking areas.

Collection of children

  1. Collection of children must be by a parent/carer or other authorised person. All parents/carers must comply with the nurseries ‘security for the collection of children’ policy.
  2. Where nursery staff deliver or collect children to & from schools parents must inform the school in advance and sign a permission slip to authorise the nursery to deliver or collect. Parents must also be aware of the nursery ‘before & after school pick up’ policy.

Policies & procedures

All of the nursery policies and procedures are available for you to read at your leisure. They are positioned in the nursery reception. If for some reason you cannot find them, please ask the nursery manager who will find them for you as soon as possible.

Complaints

  1. We sincerely hope that you never have cause to complain but if you do please follow this procedure:
  2. Firstly, speak to the manager, your concern may be quickly allayed by them.
  3. If you are still not satisfied please ask for a concern resolution form, which you can complete and return to the nursery or address to the regional manager and send directly to head office.
  4. If the concern is still not resolved then you can ask to meet with the regional manager or childcare director who will resolve your difficulty.
  5. If you still remain unsatisfied then you can contact your local OFSTED office.
